Tianjin Zoo was established on Jan. 1st, 1980 and covers a total area of 53.77 hectares. At present there are more than one hundred and eighty species. Among them the protected animals such as Giant panda, Siberian Tiger, Golden Monkey, Golden Takin, Red-crowned Crane. Although, by no means a world class zoo, it’s still a place to relax and somewhere to take the kids for a day out. It is located at the southern end of Shui Shang Park and has two entrances, one being on Shushang Gongyuan Lu and the other being located in Shuishang Park itself. If you want to take in the zoo and Shuishang Park in one day, then you buy a ticket that covers both.

Tianjin Nanshi Food Street 天津南市食品街

Food Street in Tianjin’s Nanshi (Southern Market). There is a crossroads in the “city”, and at the centre of the crossroads is a musical fountain. The entire structure is covered with a glass roof. Occupying more than 40,000 square metres in floor space, there are over one hundred eating places each having its own special dishes of local flavours. There are Chinese restaurants serving Tianjin and other schools of cuisine and Western restaurants. The restaurants here represent both new and traditional names in Tianjin, serving all of China’s eight major cuisines including Sichuan, Guangdong (Cantonese), Hunan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing, Shanxi and Muslim food.
