China Drivers License for Foreigners

Foreigners from any country who want to drive in China must apply for a China Drivers License. International driver licenses and overseas driver licenses are not recognized, because China has not signed the Convention which created IDPS (International Driving Permits).The documents needed to apply for a China Drivers License for Foreigners are as follows:

1. 1 copy of your passport page

2. 1 copy of your Chinese visa

3. 1 copy of the latest entry stamp in your passport

4. 1 copy of both sides of your overseas driving license

5. 8 one-inch color pictures with white background (full face, not profile, remove spectacles if worn)

6. Your Chinese name

7. Height

8. Deposit: 2000 RMB
