Tianjin Traffic
Traffic in Tianjin is pretty chaotic. Drivers are extremely impatient and love to honk their horns. Although, there are road rules, they are often ignored because there are not enough traffic police to enforce them. By far the worst culprits for making traffic a mess in Tianjin are cyclists. They totally ignore traffic lights and ride excruciatingly slow. Cyclists often don’t look before pulling out into traffic creating many near misses and a few hits too. Beware, when crossing the road to make sure you look both ways first. Also, note that when it is pedestrians’ time to cross at lights, cars should, but often don’t give you the right of way. It’s important to be assertive when crossing the road in Tianjin. Don’t suddenly stop or change direction when crossing, otherwise you may end up causing an accident.
